A distraught mother has told an inquest how she fell asleep while breastfeeding after drinking heavily - and woke to find her baby had died. Emma Hector, 30, had drunk almost a whole bottle of white wine on an empty stomach when she fed seven-month-old Naomi Rose while lying on a bed. Her husband Allen, 42, found the infant's lifeless body, lying in a foetal position facing his wife, in the early hours of June 30, 2009. The inquest at Bolton Coroner's Court heard that when Mr Hector discovered them, his wife's breast was covering Naomi's face and the baby had blood in her mouth. Mrs Hector, who has two other children - one born after Naomi's death - said she had not eaten all day due to anxiety over a forthcoming appointment with Social Services.
